Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids that must be taken regularly through food, as the human body cannot synthesize them on its own. They are essential for life among other compounds. The body needs omega-3 fatty acids to build cell membranes and nerve cells, especially those in the eyes and brain. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are the most biologically active omega-3 fatty acids, which is why they are in the focus of nutritionists.
As the proportion of unsaturated fatty acids in the diet of most European countries is relatively small, adequate dietary intake of EPA and DHA is not always guaranteed. In these cases, it makes sense to take EPA and DHA in the form of a dietary supplement.

VITAZELL-OMEGA contains, in addition to omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E (RRR-α-tocopherol), which is obtained from natural vegetable oil. Compared to chemically produced vitamin E, natural vitamin E has a number of advantages. It has the highest biological activity and helps to protect cells in the body from oxidative stress.
